DMS Panther Band Volunteers
Where do we need help?
Maintaining a tradition of excellence in our program requires a substantial amount of work both inside and outside the classroom. We appreciate your help and commitment to our students and program. We are excited to welcome you to the DMS Panther Band Volunteer team!
Treasury
8th Grade Lead: Candace Arvanetes
7th Grade Lead: Elizabeth Stevens
The Band Treasurer is responsible for checking the safe in the Band Room, filling out monies collected forms, and tracking payments for the year on CutTime. The treasurer coordinates with the school bookkeeper and picks up the change fund before 2 pm on game days.
Football Concessions
Co-Leads: Arin Johnston, & Lynndel Zimmerman
Concessions are one of the band’s top fundraisers, and your help makes a big difference! We need about eight volunteers for each game. One person picks up Chick-fil-A and pizza, while others handle tasks like making nachos and popcorn, serving food, or working the windows.
Chaperone
8th Grade Leads: Amy Rhea, Eleanor Riffle
7th Grade Leads: Madison Coffey, Tony Hendrix
Chaperones play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. Whenever the band travels to games, concerts, or trips, we are required to have parent chaperones accompany us. The committee is responsible for organizing and coordinating these volunteers.
Uniforms
8th Grade Lead: Nicole Warner
7th Grade Lead: Samantha Hawkins
Our band uniforms help create a sense of identity and professionalism within our program. Uniform committee coordinates all aspects of uniform management, from organizing fittings and alterations to ensuring every student is performance-ready. Volunteers are needed for uniform fittings, working with seamstresses, assisting on performance days, and handling uniform collection and cleaning at the end of the year.
Equipment
8th Grade Lead: Adam Rhea
7th Grade Lead: Tony Hendrix
This team is responsible for transporting and setting up all necessary equipment: Drum Major podiums, percussion instruments, stands, chairs, and other large items. Equipment committee coordinates volunteers, organize loading and unloading logistics, and ensure everything arrives safely and on time. If you have a truck, trailer hitch, or just a willingness to lend a hand, we’d greatly appreciate your help.
Know of a local business or individual willing to sponsor the DMS Band? Please let us know! This money goes toward equipment, instruments, music, performances, guest artists, and scholarships for band students in need of financial assistance. Fundraising chair coordinates our sponsorships and any fundraisers throughout the school year.
Our students and families love looking back on performances and experiences in the form of photos and recordings! If you have a professional camera/recording equipment and are willing to share your services with us, we would love to have you on board! Please upload pictures to a Google Drive or Drop-Box, rather than emailing as separate files.
